Raheem Sterling found it easy to decide on joining Manchester City

Raheem Sterling insists it was easy to leave Liverpool for Manchester City once he knew Manuel Pellegrini was interested in signing him.

The England winger’s £49m transfer to the Etihad Stadium came after a well-documented fall-out with the Anfield club.

Sterling’s move is the biggest in the Premier League so far this summer and now he wants to cap it by helping his new side win back the title in the months ahead.

Speaking to fans at the club’s season launch part on Wednesday evening about his decision to join City, Sterling said: “The decision was easy when I first knew.

“With the players they’ve got here, it’s just a really attractive place to be. I’m happy I made that decision.

“It’s been a good pre-season so far. Obviously some of the results haven’t gone our way but there are some great players here.

“I’m really looking forward to linking up with them in the coming season. I’m trying to add more goals and creativity to my game. I’m trying to gets my assist numbers and goals up.

Asked about his aims for the campaign, he added: “Just doing the best we can and hopefully trying to get some silverware at the end of the season. That’s my main objective.”

Fabian Delph was also present at the event as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury suffered in his first appearance for the club against Real Madrid in Australia.

He is eager to make a strong start once he plays competitively for City and is particularly keen to help the team succeed in the Champions League, an event in which they have often struggled.

On his unfortunate start, Delph said: “It’s not the best debut but things can only get better from there.

“I’m feeling great now, my recovery is going well and we’ve got a great medical team here. I’m flying at the minute so I’m looking forward to coming back.

“I’m really excited as it’s every boy’s dream to play in the Champions League. I’ve been given the opportunity to come here and do that. Hopefully we can do well in it and I can keep pushing on.”

Reds to make move for 'new Sergio Aguero' Luciano Vietto

Liverpool could be set to make a move for the man dubbed the 'new Sergio Aguero' according to reports today.

£12m-rated Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto is said to be interesting Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers as he looks for a striker capable of adding goals to his team.

Argentina youth international Vietto has scored 12 goals in 23 games for the 'Yellow Submarine' since a £5m move in the summer transfer window and has attracted interest from some of Europe's biggest names, including Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

The Reds are reportedly ready to steal a march on their rivals by looking to sign the 21-year-old in January.

Chelsea meet West Ham United in London on Friday

Chelsea (Top of the Table) meet West Ham United in a London Boxing Day fixture on Friday. Jose Mourinho will be looking to extend or retain his side's lead at the top of the Premier League table, while Sam Allardyce is looking to further gate-crash the top four.

Let's take a tactical look at this one and see how it may play out.

Chelsea Setup

Chelsea meet West Ham United in London on Friday

Jose Mourinho, somehow, has next to no injury worries as he approaches an enticing home fixture against the Hammers. Eden Hazard took a knock late on in the win over Stoke City, but he's expected to play here.

The 4-2-3-1 formation will be rolled out once again, but we'll likely see Cesc Fabregas drop into the holding pivot, allowing Oscar to return to the No. 10 role. John Obi Mikel is the sort of insurance you need on a wet, windy night against the Potters, but not on your home turf when you're expected to take the initiative.

So wait & see what happen!!!!

Manchester United are the kings of Boxing Day in the Premier League era, having won 19 and only lost one of the 22 games they've played on 26 December.

Unfortunately for Newcastle United, they are terrible the day after Christmas, with just four wins in 20 years in the top flight - this game looks like it's only heading one way.

I think Manchester United & Newcastle United will playing this formati

Before their 1-1 draw at Villa Park last weekend Manchester United had won six matches in a  row and had begun to consolidate their spot as the third best team in the Premier League.

With Jonny Evans and Phil Jones back and Chris Smalling an outside chance to return, United's weak spot, their defence, is beginning to take shape.

However, Luke Shaw, Daley Blind, and Ander Herrer are still out, while Marouane Fellaini is ill and unlikely to play.

For Alan Pardew, holding midfielder Cheick Tiote is suspended, while Steven Taylor will not play after colliding with a post in the Tyne-Wear derby.

These two met on Boxing Day in 2012 and played out a seven-goal thriller, let's hope for a similar outcome.

Mario Balotelli's is not suited to the  Liverpool are looking to recapture, according to manager Brendan Rodgers.

The Reds boss has recently adopted a 3-4-3 formation designed to give added potency to his side's attack after a poor first four months of the season and has seen displays improve since abandoning the 4-2-3-1 setup.

He has switched to a system of three centre-backs, while using Raheem Sterling as a central striker, and was rewarded with an impressive attacking performance on Sunday as his side drew 2-2 with Arsenal in the Premier League.

Asked how Balotelli might fit into the new system, Rodgers said: "I think we've seen that it's not really his game.

Brendan Rodgers said "We're at our best when our game's aggressive. We've had to adapt this year in terms of how we've played because of the personnel.

"In the period after the Crystal Palace game, we needed to get some results. We needed to steady the ship and get some solid performances in, but the boys know that, in the long term, that isn't going to take us to where we want to go.

"It certainly wouldn't have taken us to the point where we nearly won the league last season so, for us, it was about trying to find a solution in order to get back that intensity and tempo to our game, which is critical to how we work, and I think we're seeing that.

"That's the key for us -- that real aggressive pressure at the top end of the field. It gives us the platform to go and dominate the ball.

"There's been a lot of work gone into that. We haven't just stumbled across this system. A lot of thinking time has gone into how we can maximise the players we have in order to be as close to our game model as we would like.

"In the last three games, the performance has been much closer. We hope it will continue in that way. We have to work very hard. Players are now starting to adapt to the club, and the performances will get better, I believe."

Having worked with Mario during the time he's been here, we've seen that he's a player who better in and around the box, so that level of intensity and pressing isn't a part of his game, but you try to get the best out of the players that you have, and the qualities that they have, so that's something that we'll focus on.

The most important thing is that he's now available after his ban. That adds another player to our squad, especially with Fabio Borini not being available because of suspension."

Balotelli has yet to score a Premier League goal for Liverpool, having arrived from AC Milan for 16 million pounds in August.

Rio Ferdinand Talks about Man Utd will finish top three

Rio Ferdinand, QPR defender has backed former club Manchester United to finish in the Premier League's top three this season after overcoming a "sticky start'' under Louis van Gaal.
Rio Ferdinand Talks about Man Utd will finish top three
Speaking to Sky Sports News about United's season Ferdinand, who had been a part of the Red Devils for more than ten years before finally move to Queens Park Rangers last summer, believes his old team was at least going to win a trophy at the end of the competition. "Six weeks ago I guess you hope they can qualify for the Champions League [next season], "said Ferdinand. "Looking at them now, I think they'll finish in third place, qualifying for the Champions League, maybe then they will get a trophy. "They're in third place for the moment. If they continue their pace, then who knows? They could only finish second or first, but I think [qualifying for] the Champions League is their target this season and I think they will reach it easily, "he added. United will host Newcastle United in the Premier League match day 18th at Old Trafford Friday night.

Van Gaal has started to live up to his star-billing in recent weeks, overseeing a run of six wins from seven matches which has lifted the Red Devils into third place ahead of the Boxing Day visit of Newcastle. And Ferdinand, whose 12-year stint at Old Trafford ended in the summer, is convinced his old side's revival will continue.
"Six weeks ago I think you'd be thinking hopefully they'd get in the Champions League,'' he said on Sky Sports News. "Looking at them now, I think they'll finish definitely in third place, definite Champions League, then maybe they'll get one of the cups.
